To avoid time conflicts with other scheduled PAL events, Canada Screenwriters Meetings have been rescheduled to be held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at exactly 7:00 pm.
Script Feedback
Usually, we critique one or two original shorts, one original feature, or one play per meeting, going around the table one by one, with others throwing in relevant comments from time to time.
Special Meetings
- practicing pitches
- writing loglines
- treatments
- crafting a script synopsis
- scripts from the actor’s perspective
- putting together a series Bible
- the creative process
- developing characters
- Genres such as mystery writing and writing for animation
- writing a documentary script
- industry trade events and networking strategies
- utilizing the latest strategies in internet marketing to promote screenplays/film projects.
- applying the screenwriting craft to making money between gigs or before the “big break” such as in the creation of information products.
Canada Screenwriters participants with a yearly Canada Screenwriters membership ($48.00) and who have reviewed at least one work by another club participant can get feedback on their work. If you want your work discussed at a future meeting, please bring at least five hardcopies of your script to a meeting or send it to Adam Fulford in an email attachment, so he can in turn email it to other members.
NOTE: Be on time. There is only a 15 minute window to enter a Canada Screenwriters meeting, after which time no one else will be allowed in to attend the meeting.
